New Arrival: Sheldon Neuse, if, Oakland Athletics

I saw Sheldon Neuse play here in Hawaii back in 2016. He was with Oklahoma at the time. A junior, he would hit .369/.465/.646 with 10 HR that season. He was a well thought of prospect.
I got his autograph…but he did not seem thrilled about it.
That June he was get selected by the Washington Nationals with their 2nd round pick.
Neuse started 2017 in A-Ball at Hagerstown. He hit .291/.349/.469 with 9 HR.
In July 2017 Neuse was traded to the Athletics as part of the Sean Doolittle/Ryan Madison trade.
Between the Washington and Oakland organizations, he moved up three levels over the course of the season–from A-Ball in Hagerstown, to High-A in Stockton, to AA in Midland. He would hit .321/.382/.502 with 16 HR between them. And he got better as the season went on…so its not like he was padding his numbers at the lower levels.
He was invited to play in the AFL where he continues to hit. As of early November, he is hitting .286/.357/.571 with 4 HR. He was a 2017 AFL All-Star.
His ability to hit while also playing third and short make him a very exciting prospect.
