More autographs from a late-season consignment.
Nick Ciuffo, c, Rays – Ciuffo was a 1st round pick of Tampa’s back in 2013. From 2013-2017 he ranked as one of the organizations Top 30 prospects five times, though much of this was due to his plus defense. He hit .262/.301/.380 this season in AAA and even got his first taste of the big leagues. He should have a long career as a backup catcher. He is my #2 catcher in MLB the Show, mostly because he is a lefty and pairs nice with Yan Gomes.
Quincy Nieporte, 1b, Phillies – Was a 26th round pick of the Phillies out of Florida State in 2017. He spent most of 2018 with the organizations Low-A club and hit .258/.315/.382 with 6 HR. He is not a huge prospect, but held his own and will get a chance to see what he can do at High-A Clearwater in 2019.
Ramon Laureano, of, Oakland Athletics – Laureano had a very strong rookie campaign in 2018, hitting .288/.358/.474 with 5 HR. He does not have a ton of power and strikes out a lot…but there is something to like here. He will open the season in the big league outfield.
Ryan Dull, p, Oakland Athletics – 32nd round pick of the A’s back in 2012. This season–his fourth in the big leagues–he appeared in 28 games, put up a 4.26 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with 21 strikeouts in 25.1 innings. He is a league average pitcher but should be valuable as a low-leverage pen arm in 2019.
