Teodoro Ortega is a decent pitching prospect.
- Signed as an international free agent by the Oakland Athletics in July 2017
- Pitched very well in the Dominican Summer League in 2018 (3-1, 2.11 ERA/0.891 WHIP)
- It would seem that his performance was noticed, at least by the Texas Rangers, who got him in a trade for p Cory Gearrin.
- This season he pitched in affiliate ball–Low-A Spokane–and again put up good numbers: 2-2, 2.89 ERA/1.17 WHIP.
- About the only flag was that his SO/9 ratio dropped from 10.12 to 7.63, but I think that is expected in the jump in leagues.
