Triston Polley was drafted in the 16th round (475th overall) by the Texas Rangers in 2019 out of Indiana State.

He was fantastic his last year at Indiana State, going 8-1 with a 3.27 ERA/1.185 WHIP. He spent the vast majority of his first pro season in low-A Spokane and was very good, going 2-0 with a 3.74 ERA/0.923 WHIP.

He was a starter in college but it seems the Rangers think his stuff will play better out of the pen. They might be right. In college, he struck out 7.7 per nine innings, but in the pros that have spiked to 13.3. That is encouraging.
