William Gaston was signed by the Blue Jays in December 2018 as a minor league free agent.
Gaston spent most of the season in extended spring training, then was assigned in short-season ball in June. Over 47.1 innings he allowed 43 hits while striking out 40 and walking 32. Opposing batters hit .239 off of him. He clearly has some work to do, but he is a big dude with good tools. The Blue Jays have no reason to rush him.
