HOF Rickey Henderson is only 19th all-time (111.1) in career WAR. Alex Rodriguez has him beat with 117.6, good for 16th overall. The nearest active player? Mike Trout with 86.2 (50th). For some reason I always thought Henderson would be a Top 10 player. Guess not.
George Brett might be a cranky person, but he was an amazing ballplayer. Three-time batting champion, 13-time All-Star, 1980 MVP, and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1999. He also is #48 in career WAR, with 88.6.
Dansby Swanson is a solid player. He is not a top-tier shortstop, but he is something north of a league-average offensive producer with a plus glove. And when you play a premium offensive position, you can’t ask for much more.

teve Carlton was an amazing pitcher. 329 career wins, four Cy Young Awards, 10 All-Star selections, two-time World Series Champion, and of course, 1994 first ballot Hall of Famer.
If you are a Cleveland fan, you always knew that Civale would be good. He just needed to stay healthy.
New Arrival: Ramon Laureano, of, Cleveland Guardians … Outfielder Ramon Laureano is one of a bunch of players Cleveland added to their roster late this season. Unlike most, he has a future with the team since he was selected off waivers from the Athletics and is under team control until[…]
My fantasy team needed some help in the infield in late June, and the Padre’s Ha-Seong Kim was available as a free agent, so I jumped. It was a good call.
I am normally pretty good about impulse buys…but I lost, in this case. Its a weird hobby: a Steven Kwan autograph will cost me roughly $100, but a HOF player like Jeff Bagwell cost me less than $60. … I ran across a video recently talking about Jeff Bagwell and[…]
