Aaron Cunningham was quite a prospect while in the minors. He was one of the Top 10 prospects of both White Sox (#7 in 2007), and Diamondbacks (#7 in 2008), and in 2009 was rated the 55th best prospect in baseball. If its any gauge, he was part of the package that Arizona put together to trade for Oakland’s Dan Haren.
Cunningham made the majors in 2008, but was never really able to stick. His last season in the big leagues came in 2012 with the Cleveland Indians. That season he would hit .175/.245/.247 in 97 at-bats, and was allowed to walk as a free agent after the season. He would spend the next couple seasons in AAA-ball, and retire following the 2014 season.
