Did you know that the last time that a Cleveland player won the MVP award was in 1953? That should probably not be the case. At the very least, Albert Belle should have won in 1995 (177 OPS+). But here we are, 70 years and counting since Al Rosen won the American League MVP award.

Al Rosen had a very short career, only 10 seasons, from 1947 to 1956. But, they were 10 very good seasons. Rosen was a four-time All-Star who led the league in home runs twice. In 1953 he was an absolute monster: he hit .336/.422/.613 with a league-leading 43 HR and 145 RBI. He ended the season with a 180 OPS+.
