I got this Alex Verdugo autograph in 2015, while he was in Low-A ball. He was a big prospect in the Dodgers organization and the centerpiece of a package that Los Angeles used to get Mookie Betts from the Boston Red Sox. Since coming to Boston, Verdugo has been a solid player. Over the past two seasons, he has had a 105 OPS+, and only averaged 12 HR a season. Considering the circumstances, Boston was probably hoping for something a little bit more. He will be turning 27 in 2023, an age when many players tend to peak, so it will be interesting to see if he has a breakout year or continues his league-average production.
