Thinking about some ex-Indians that I really liked. Ben Broussard is on the shortlist.
- Drafted in 1999 in the 2nd round out of McNeese State University. He was a very well thought of infield prospect for the Reds and was compared to Sean Casey–he had a great hitting skill but lacked the pop that you traditionally see in a corner infielder.
- Traded to the Indians in 2002 for 1B Russell Branyan.
- Brousard would make the big leagues in 2002 and would stick with the Tribe for the better part of six seasons. During his run with the Indians, he would hit .268/.324/.450 with a 105 OPS+.
- He had some really nice seasons in Cleveland. In 2004 he hit .275/.370/.488 with 17 HR–good for an OPS+ of 127, the best of his career.
- The Indians traded him to the Mariners in 2009. It was a pretty ok deal since we got a young Shin Soo-Choo in the deal.
- He never did much after leaving the Indians and was out of baseball by 2014.
