Dylan Stowell pitched for the California Baptist Lancers from 2014-2018 and was one of the best pitchers in not only the Pacific West Conference but all of D2 ball. In 2016 he went 9-0 with a 1.52 ERA, striking out 81 in 82.2 IP. He missed his junior season with Tommy John surgery, but came just as good in 2018, going 6-2 with a 3.12 ERA, striking out 95 over 83.2 innings.

He was one of the best D2 prospects available in the 2018 draft, and the Twins ended up taking him in the 34th round. He would only spend one season in the minors before retiring from pro ball. Why? I have no idea. Still. He was a great college pitcher, good enough to be drafted. And that is something.
