Jason Krizan was drafted by the Tigers in the 8th round of the 2011 draft. He has never really gotten much prospect attention, which is a little frustrating since he has hit at every level he has played. Over his 10 seasons in the majors, he has a career line of .275/.352/.406 with almost as many walks (465) than K’s (477).
This season, with the Giants AAA-club, Krizan is hitting .318/.375/.489 with 9 HR. Those are great numbers. But the Giants are also in a pennant race, which is not a great place to be if you are a career minor league player hoping to get his shot.
