Justin Duchscherer had a short, but fantastic career.
Duchscherer made the majors in 2001 with the Texas Rangers but was traded in 2002 to the Oakland Athletics for RHP Luis Vizcaino. By 2003 he was in the majors for good and would go on to have four awesome seasons in a row out of the Oakland pen. From 2003-2006 he went 17-12 with a 158 ERA+ over 254 innings pitched. In 2005 he was selected to his first of two All-Star teams. Following a rough 2007 (3-3, 87 ERA+), he made the transition in 2008 to the rotation and went 10-8 with a 162 ERA+ over 141.2 innings, earning his second All-Star selection. Even though Duchscherer was only 30 years old, that was his last full season in the majors. He missed 2009 due to injuries, and in 2010, with Baltimore, only pitched 28 innings (with a 144 ERA+!) before going down with a hip injury that ended his career.
