From the Collection: Kyle Crockett, p, Cleveland Guardians
…
Kyle Crockett. What a bummer. Cleveland drafted him in 2013, in the 4th round out of the University of Virginia. He was rated the 113th-best prospect in the draft and immediately became one of the organization’s top relief prospects.

Beckett blew through the minors in 2014. In 24.1 innings between AA and AAA, he only allowed 15 hits, struck out 23, walked 5, and had a 0.74 ERA/0.740 WHIP. He was called up to the big leagues, where he continued to dominate, going 4-1 with a 1.80 ERA/1.133 WHIP over 30 innings. He was only 22 years old. And the future looked bright.
…
He was never anywhere near that good again. Crockett opened the 2015 season with the Tribe and was rocked, allowing 42 hits over 28.2 innings. His numbers in AAA also slipped. In late 2017 he was lost on waivers to the Reds. He initially pitched well with the Reds AAA squad in 2018, enough to earn a call-up, but was rocked in the majors to the tune of 16 hits over 9.1 innings. He hasn’t pitched with a major league organization since.

Crockett is 31 years old. I am not sure if he has officially retired. But it would be nice to see his name again on the transaction sheet and watch him give it one more go.
