Mitch Keller was a 2nd round pick of the Pirates back in 2014. He was a high school selection out of Iowa.
Baseball America rated him the Pirates #12 prospect coming into the season.
And he will probably be higher on the next list. This season, spent mostly between AA and AAA, he went 12-4 with a 3.48 ERA/1.300 WHIP over 142.1 innings. He allowed 130 hits and struck out 135, while only walking 55.
He is tabbed with an FV of 55–so he is projected to be a middle of the rotation starter on a good team. That is something.
