Years ago Omar Vizquel did a private signing, and I sent three of these 2007 Heritage cards in to get signed. They came out pretty well–this being the best of the three.
Omar had a heck of a career: 24 seasons in the big league, three All-Star selections, and 11 Gold Gloves. I always remember him as being a decent hitter–though not quite as good Ozzie Smith–but he only had two seasons with an OPS+ of more than 100, which is not all that great. Still, he played a major role on the Indians teams of the 1990’s and had a career that he should be very proud of, even if it is just short of Hall of Fame worthy.
