Ronny Rodriguez spent part of 2018 and all of 2019 on the Tiger’s major league roster as a super-utility player. Over those two seasons, he hit .221/.254/.396 with 19 HR, good for a 70 OPS+. He was granted free agency in November 2020 and is not playing baseball right now.

Worth noting that Ronny Rodriguez was one of Cleveland’s best middle infield prospects from 2012-2015. During this period Baseball America rated him of the Top 30 prospects in the organization, and as high as #7 coming into the 2015 season. He struggled a little in AA, but by 2017 he was in AAA-ball and seemed like he was on the cusp of making the major leagues as a super-utility player. His numbers in AAA Columbus during his 2017 campaign were not bad at all: .291/.324/.454 with 17 HR and 15 stolen bases all while playing a bunch of positions in the field. But that offseason the Indians let him walk as a minor league free agent, and he would sign with the Detroit Tigers, where he would eventually get the call to the big leagues in 2018.
