I got this autograph through the mail years ago, and it is one of my favorite pieces in my collection. Ballpoint has a bad habit of smearing when you sign cards like this, so I have no idea how he managed to sign it perfectly, put it back in the envelope, and it still comes out perfect.
I don’t really have anything else to say that you don’t know. Sandy Koufax is a beloved Dodger and one of the greatest pitchers in history. While he was only in the big leagues for 12 seasons and was only really great for roughly half of those, the parts where he was great…he was historically great. From 1961-1966 he went 129-47 with a 156 ERA+, winning 20-games three times (and leading the league three times), leading the league in ERA five times, and leading the league in strikeouts four times (to include three 300+ strikeout campaigns). During this run, he was selected to seven All-Star teams, won three Cy Young awards, and was the 1963 MVP. Two of his three World Series rings came during this run, and during both Championship wins he took home the World Series MVP.
