Triston McKenzie has been one of the Indians Top Prospects since 2016, often sitting in one of the top three spots. While injuries slowed his ascent to the majors, McKenzie finally made the big leagues in 2020 and, since then, has flashed the talent that made him one of the better pitching prospects in the game.
After starting off the 2021 season in a rough patch–that included a demotion to AAA–he has righted his ship and became, arguably, the rotations ace. Since the All-Star Break McKenzie has gone 2-2 with a 4.07 ERA/0.857 WHIP and only allowed 29 hits in 42 IP. He has struck out 39.
The Indians look to have a strong rotation for the 2022 season with Shane Bieber, Aaron Civale, Cal Quantrill, Triston McKenzie, and Zach Plesac.
I got this autograph IP while Triston McKenzie was at Mahoning Valley.
