It’s always fun to see a player that came through Hawaii get drafted.
Weiss was a senior at Cal State Northridge this season and hit .290/.324/.592 with 20 HR. The power is certainly there–he led the Big West in homers in 2018 and was fourth overall in the Nation. He played mostly in the outfield in 2018, but he also can also handle catching duties. He was All-Big West Conference First Team in 2018.
He was drafted this season in the 23rd round by the Twins and was assigned to the Low-A Elizabethton Twins to start off his pro career.
Another Draft pick for @CSUNBaseball. Albee Weiss also to the @Twins! pic.twitter.com/KlJvDE2VxQ
