- Brady Singer was selected by the Royals with the 18th overall pick of the 2018 draft out of the University of Florida.
- This was the second time he was drafted, the first time being in 2015 when he was the Blue Jays second-round pick.
- He was a fantastic college pitcher. In 2018–his junior season–he went 12-3 with a 2.55 ERA/0.94 WHIP. He only allowed 84 hits in 113 innings while striking out 114. He only walked 22 batters.
- He also won the final game of the 2018 College World Series.
- Singer projects right now to be a starter, but if he does not develop a third strong pitch he could easily transition to being a shutdown pen arm. Which…with the way the game is going…might make him just as valuable as a middle of the rotation arm.
- Either way, he is easily the Royals #1 prospect coming into 2019.
