Despite the rain–which has been a theme almost every time I have ventured out to a prep game this season–I was able to finally get one of the best players in the state, Iolani’s Chase Thompson. @chase.hawaii A two-way player, he is widely regarded as the best player in the 2027 class. That is high praise considering how talented that class is. Chase is also a University of Hawaii commit, which is also very exciting. The baseball program at UH has been going through a bit of a renascence under coach Rich Hill, and getting top-tier local players like Thompson is the key to sustaining this success.
