Jacob Wallace was drafted in the 3rd round by the Colorado Rockies in 2019 but was traded to the Red Sox in 2020 as part of a package for OF Kevin Pillar.
Wallace is a very good prospect, who might very well be in the majors sooner rather than later. While he carried an ERA near 6 last season with High-A Greenville, he also struck out 76 in only 48.2 innings and only allowed 41 hits. The only thing holding him back is his control, which should come in time.
He is opening the 2022 season with the Red Sox AA team but has the tools to move quickly through the system.
