Kyle Nelson was drafted in the 15th round (462nd overall) by the Cleveland Indians in 2017 out of UC Santa Barbra. He has a pretty amazing college career and served as the UCSB closer during its memorable World Series run.
Nelson has had an…amazing 2018. He opened the season in low-A Lake County and just destroyed opposing hitters. Over 35.1 innings he has allowed only 28 hits while striking out 51. The best part? Only walked two. Two! He carried a 0.76 ERA/0.85 WHIP.
He got promoted to High-A a couple weeks ago. If he keeps it up he could move quickly.
