Rutgers baseball is having a heck of a season. As of today they are sitting atop the Big 10 standings with a 25-6 record, and are riding a 10-game winning streak. One of the big reasons for this is catcher redshirt junior Nick Cimmino, who is hitting .414/.517/.724 with a team-leading 8 HR. Over 116 at-bats he has more walks (23) than K’s (16) and is doing this all while playing the most demanding defensive position on the field. This is his first season with Rutgers–he is a transfer from Manhattan College–and it could very well be his last following the MLB draft in July.
