Tommy Jew is a sophomore outfielder for UCSB and one of the very best players in the Big West.
- Last season Jew hit .312/.386/.454 with 5 HR–great numbers that got him tagged First Team All-Big West.
- This was coming off an impressive summer in Collegiate Summer Ball with the Mystic Schooners of the NECBL, where he hit .328/.394/.578 with 8 HR. He was selected the NECBL MVP and Top Pro Prospect Award.
- What’s weird: last summer he played in the Cape Cod League and only hit .245/.315/.357 with 2 HR.
- Still, coming into 2019 he was tagged by Baseball America to be the Big West Player of the Year and the 10th best prospect in the conference.
- And he is hitting like it: .303/.385/.667 with 8 HR. He also is 8 for 9 in stolen bases.
