This autograph was obtained during Spring Training 2018. I was really happy that the Indians were able to hold onto McKenzie through the trade deadline–he has the chance to play a major role in the Indians next contention window.
- Triston McKenzie was the 42nd overall pick of the Cleveland Indians in the 2015 draft. He was signed out of Royal Palm Beach (Fla.) HS.
- Since being drafted he has been one of the Indians Top prospects, and coming into 2018 he was the organizations #2 overall prospect.
- He opened 2018 in AA and has…only improved his stock. He is 6-2, 2.77 ERA/0.99 WHIP in 61.2 IP. He has only allowed 43 hits, struck out 56 and only walked 18.
- The only real issue with him is his body; if he bulks up there is nothing stopping him from developing into a frontline starter. If not, he may be limited to being a shutdown pen arm.
