I got this autograph back in 2016 when the University of Arizona Wildcats team was visiting Hawaii.
Here were my notes about Bobby Dalbec at the time:
Bobby Dalbec is probably the biggest draft prospect to come through Hawaii this season, being projected to be taken in the first 100 picks or so. He is a two way player, with plus power in both his bat and arm.
This season he was struggling a little at the plate, but has been heating up recently and now has a nice .253/.358/.368 line. As a pitcher he has gone 8-4 with a 3.08 ERA, and in 28 IP struck out 24.
But I dont think his number are anything to worry about. He hit very well in the Cape last summer, and the tools are clearly there. Some team is going to draft him, and the rumor I have heard is that he will likely transition full time to the mound. He is going to be an interesting player to watch develop.
Bobby Dalbec was drafted by the Red Sox in the 4th round of the 2016 draft and he has had a very successful pro career. Last season he split the season between High-A and AA and hit .257/.361/.558 with 32 HR. He entered the season the Red Sox #16 prospect, but he will be coming into 2019 as the organizations #1 overall prospect.
