2003 Grandstand Boise Hawks Rich Hill, his first minor league card.
One of my favorite in-person autographs was getting Rich Hill while he was pitching with the Cleveland Indians back in 2013. During his brief stint with the Tribe, he went 1-2 with a 6.28 ERA/1.733 WHIP/ 61 ERA+ over 38.2 innings. I remembered him, at the time, as a former can’t miss prospect with the Cubs who, in 2011, managed to win 11 games with Chicago. Hill was 33 at the time and I assumed he was near the end of his career.

Since getting that autograph, Rich Hill has played for seven more teams and has been…fantastic. From 2014-2021 he has gone 46-24 with a 2.99 ERA/ 1.072 WHIP/ 135 ERA+.
