Jerome Williams was a very good pitching prospect. He was the Giant’s #1 prospect in both 2001 and 2002, and their #3 prospect in 2003. He made the majors in 2003 with the Giants and he held his own, going 7-5 with a 3.30 ERA/1.260 WHIP. But he struggled in 2004, and in 2005 was sent back to the minors and eventually traded to the Cubs. He would continue to struggle to stay in the big leagues, and in 2010 spent the season in Taiwan. Williams had a brief resurgence with the Angles in 2011 and was a nearly league-average pitcher from 2011-2013. He would retire following the 2016 season.
