Galarraga spent 19 seasons in the big leagues and retired with a line of .286/.347/.846 with 399 HR and 31.7 WAR.
He was selected to five All-Star teams, won two Gold Gloves, two Silver Sluggers and was the 1993 batting champ with a .370 AVG.
One thing that I think is interesting about his career was…the dude rarely saw a ball that he was not willing to swing at. Despite his great offensive numbers he also led the league in strikeouts four times.
He averaged 44 walks a season to 144 K’s
But he made it work. Look at his 1988 season: he led the league in hits (184) and K’s (153), with an OPS+ of 114.
