Chris Young had a very understated career. He spent 13 seasons in the majors and was a solid #3 starter. When healthy, he was well above average. The problem was he was rarely able to stay on the field. Only four times in his career was he able to pitch at least 160 innings. In one of those seasons, in 2007 with the Padres, he had a 3.12 ERA/128 ERA+ over 173 innings and was selected to his only All-Star team. He was also part of the 2015 Royals, and his solid pitching in the postseason helped the club win the World Series.
Chris Young retired in 2018, but he is not out of the game. In 2020 he was named the GM of the Texas Rangers.
