I am not quite into prospect watching like I used to be, but there are a couple of MiLB players outside of the Cleveland organization that I like, and Arizona’s Corbin Carroll is near the top of that shortlist.
Corbin Carroll came into 2021 as the D-backs top prospect but tore the labrum and capsule in his right, non-throwing shoulder early in the season. In his 23 at-bats before going down with the injury, Carroll hit .435/.552/.913 with two HR and 6 walks to 7 K’s.
Carroll is still Arizona’s top prospect, but the injury he had is relatively serious and there is no guarantee he will return the player that he was. If he does? He has the potential to be a dynamic centerfielder with pop, on-base skills, and plus defense. That is rare. And exciting.
