New Arrival: Josh Rojas, if, Seattle Mariners
…
Josh Rojas is on a short list of active MLB players who played for the University of Hawaii. He spent two years playing in Honolulu for the Rainbow Warriors, and had a solid senior year in 2017, hitting .294/.404/.541 with five HR. Following the season, the Astros drafted him in the 26th round.

Rojas developed into a legit MLB prospect and would get called up by the Diamondbacks in 2019. In 2021 and 2022 he was a full-time player with Arizona and had a very solid 106 OPS+. Rojas was traded in 2023 to the Mariners and opened the 2024 season as a part-time player. He is having a nice start, with a 135 OPS+ through 25 at-bats. Because he can play both the infield and outfield and has a history of offensive success, he should be a valuable utility infielder for years to come.
