Micker Adolfo was signed as an international free agent out of the Dominican Republic by the White Sox, July 2, 2013.
- Adolfo is a well thought of prospect, ranking in the White Sox Top 30 every season since he was signed.
- That said, 2017 was an important campaign. Every year his stock has slipped a little. He has lots of potential, but it has yet to really translate into any sort of production. In 2016 he struggled in Low-A, hitting only .219 with a .609 OPS.
- The White Sox made him re-do Low-A in 2017, and it looks like he has responded. Adolfo is hitting .264/.331/.453 and has tripled his career high in home runs with 16.
After the 2014 season, he was rated the teams #6 prospect. After the 2017 season, he was rated the teams #24 prospect and was at risk of falling off the list altogether. This season I think he made a strong case that he should stay in the prospect conversation for the foreseeable future.
