Scott Brosius was in the big leagues for 11 seasons (1991-2001). He is best known for his four seasons with the Yankees, especially his 1998 season. That year, Brosius hit .300 with a 121 OPS+, was selected to his only All-Star team, and won the World Series and World Series MVP. He would spend the next three seasons in New York, and was a generally solid bat and steady glove, but was never quite as good as that season.
I am a fan because of his first seven seasons in the majors with the Oakland Athletics. He was never an All-Star but had some solid seasons. And, in fact, his 1996 campaign in Oakland was probably the best of his career: .304/.393/.516 with 14 HR and a 127 OPS+.
I love the 1992 Score set, and when I see a nicely signed card I try to jump on it. I was lucky to nab this one. For whatever reason, I always struggle to find nice Scott Brosius autographs.
