Where is all started: Justin Speier, rp, Cleveland Guardians
…
Here is it, my first real through-the-mail autograph. I wrote to RP Justin Speier in late 2001, right after Cleveland traded him to the Mets. He was one of two late-year autograph requests I sent out, the other being Reds outfield, Brady Clark. And I don’t really remember why I did it. At the time I was not even all that much into autographs. But I did like both players. And sure enough, right as the season ended (or maybe just after), both came rolling back to me. First Speier, then not long after, Clark. And like that, I was hooked on autograph collecting. . In roughly 255 months since I started collecting, I added roughly 15,000 autographs to my collection.
